Advent tea

Since 1953, the International Women's Club Kassel invites every year in December to its traditional Advent tea. More than 400 ladies of the Kasseler society follow this invitation every year and enjoy the Christmas party at the festively decorated tables with coffee, tea and home-baked cakes and tarts.

During this event, the American student introduces himself/herself, who is currently being sponsored for a year at the University of Kassel through the exchange program of the VDAC. During this afternoon, the respective project will be presented, which receives a donation from the proceeds of the Advent tea.

In the first years, the Advent tea took place in the the America-house, afterwards in different hotels in Kassel, until 1999 the 50th anniversary of the club changed to the Kongress Palais Stadthalle, where the Advent tea traditionally takes place in the festive Blauer Saal. (See /-_Impressionen)

The aim of this afternoon is to raise funds for the German-American student exchange, for the youth work of the Association of German-American Clubs and for an annually changing social project. The decision on which project is supported is made by the club members. In accordance with the statutes, it is important to promote social commitment for children and young people in Kassel and the surrounding area.

Alrewady weeks before the advent tea, valuable prizes for the traditional big raffle will be collected. Due to the high acceptance in the public in Kassel, this event is supported by many regional businesses and companies with donations in kind and money.
